When I checked several days ago, Kenai and Kasilof Sockeye counters were still running, and Kenai King counter was still running. Looks like Kasilof Sockeye might have shut off a couple days ago based on the 1% formula (3 consecutive days of counts <1% of total run). At first glance I believe this is the latest ANY of the counters have ran, all on the same year. While I support the 1% formula for pulling the sonar, it hasn't always been adhered to, and given how much the current leadership has changed about how we manage our runs I can't help but wonder if this is due to unusually late timing on ALL species, or if we changed something about the way we're running the counter. Genuine question, and appreciate any input.
