The FAA grudgingly continues to let me fly, with the every 2-year checkup, so they...and my granddaughter...think I'm competent to fly. Admittedly, my wife entertains serious doubts about it.....particularly ever since we went to the cabin into the teeth of a 35-40 mph wind. Real challenge getting down and once down, I was too scared spitless to even try to get out and tie down. That was all followed by the shortest takeoff roll ever experienced: by the time I had rolled from idle to full throttle, I was airborne, likely less than a 15' ground run. The leg from Palmer to the cabin that took between 30- 45 minutes eastbound was less than 10 minutes westbound.

I don't know why I feel the need to even address this, but of course I will not be mixing hunting and drinking. I will be having a drink or two at camp after hunting and in the days after my tag has been punched. You're cool if I have a beer while fishing, right?
