I have a Czech VZ-24 action with a 416 Taylor (458 Win necked down to 416) chambered barrel.
It started out as a project many years ago, but the parts sat in a gunsmiths shop for years. Some of you here know the story.
Well, now that I have most of the parts back, I can now longer shoot heavy recoiling rifles, unless I want to detach my retina again.
What is the ballpark value of barrel actions these days? I also have dies, brass and bullets.
The stock I was going to use is an old parker hale. It has not had the barrel channel opened up yet and the area around the magazine box will need some work.
My original idea was to use a side mounted peep and retain the old Mauser safety like an old style Dangerous Game rifle.
WELL NOW IT IS NOT LETTING ME POST PHOTOS AGAIN> It keeps saying that the photos do not have a correct extension.

I would contact the three gun shops around Soldotna and get an estimate from each, average the estimates and that is within 15/25% of actual worth. Honestly, the best indicator is looking at the completed auctions on GB and seeing what those style rifles went for over the past month. It's only worth what someone will pay for it, and it seems that the gun market is in a severe "up nad down" cycle right now.

I actually have properly marked brass, some 400 grain bullets and a brand new set of loading dies that comes with it.

Wildcats always bring less money. Add in the fact you are selling parts and not a finished rifle ready to shoot and value sinks even lower. If someone offered you $500 for everything I would jump on it.
Otherwise, list it on Gunbrokers starting at one penny for 2 weeks and allow the free market to decided. Factor in about $50-70 for shipping to the lower 48.

I agree. I imagine that most serious gun people have not even heard of that chambering and wildcat rounds aren't very interesting to the second hand market. The fun in a wildcat is taking it from concept to fruition, not so much picking up where someone else left off. You would probably be better off selling it off in pieces. Personally, I would pay no more money for a barreled action than I would pay for a action without a barrel, I just don't trust others work. Another rout might be to finish the build and sell a complete rifle but you may just be putting good money on top of bad.

I "recently" sent a barreled action; no stock, no trigger group, and a short barrel. It cost me over $80 USPS for shipping and insurance to an AZ FFL. Shipping be expensive!
