I was wondering if anyone has the lowdown (good bad or otherwise) on the 2009 Honda Rancher AT? It has independant front/rear suspension, fuel injected, auto tranny or electric shift options, and power steering. Let me know what you have heard or experienced with this machine, thanks.

Bought 2 barebones 2009 420 MT in April.

My kids love them and they ride them hard. No problems thus far. I need to get some stick guards on the axels but otherwise perfect.

Hard to beat Honda for reliability.

Leave them stock and do your maintenance and they will run forever. Bout time Honda caught up, independent rear suspension, fuel injection, automatic transmission, and power steering in a more "agile" quad. I worked for a shop that sold Honda's we could barely get these things out of the crate before they were sold. Go for it!!!

Honda has been in the ATV business for a long time. As Hoppy said below, keep up with the maintenance and you will have a rig that will last you a long time. Power steering is a nice plus, if you plan on riding rough trails.

My family has owned just about every honda from a TRX 250R, thru the Rincon. Two of those really stand above the competition in my mind. The Rubicon, and the original Rancher

The original Rancher was a tank of a quad, and the AT was an improvement over that as far as I'm concerned. They're tough, have good power for thier size, agile, and reliable. My only issue at all, is the whine the tranny makes as you drive it. But I can live with that, and I like everything else about it.
