Hello, experimenting with a factory Glock 21, I found 1000 255gr cast swc .451 bullets. I thought maybe I’d run them fast. I loaded 2 mags with 7.5gr AA5 @846 fps on chrony. No pressure signs, cycles.

Do you think I could safely go to 8.0? Or hotter? I’d like to hit 900 fps.
I also have some blue dot powder I could try.

Why? Because I want to. And it’s a Glock who cares if it beats its up, if I break it I’ll toss it in the outhouse at birchwood and buy another.

Thanks :)

I don't load for 45acp, BUT I have load data for 45acp +p with 250gn and AA5 at 7.6gn. If you factor in the variables and accept the risk vs the reward, I say you do you and load it up.

You say you don't care about destroying it since it's a glock, but a stock G21 recoil spring will barely handle garbage 45acp 230FMJ, so your frame will take a beating unless you get a heavier recoil spring. However, you know your situation better than others and I look forward to hearing your results!
