Bob's most recent blog post sounds bad.. Getting flipped by a wave in the Berring Sea.

Sent from my phone while I should be working.

Worst experience paddling? There was the time when we reminded the Boy Scouts to hold on to their paddles if they went into the water (middle stretch of the Kenai). They did as instructed... but let go of the boat. The other dad and I leading the trip had just never thought someone would let their boat go away. Lesson learned! And after some words that do not appear in the Scout Oath, we finished the trip wiser and wetter.

I'll bet BeaV Bob will have some good ones once his trip is finished

Will,
If he comes back your way, maybe you could give him a video interview, with questions raised from this forum. I sure'd like to buy him a beer or two, or three, ... & listen to the spinning yarns. I'm especially interested in his Chandalar section & upper Koyukuk.

My worst paddling experience was at 13 y/o, at Fairhaven Christian Academy.

Our abusive coach chased us around and swatted us with a canoe oar (affectionately named 'big ben') if we didn't perform in our given sport to his satisfaction.

"Paddling" at its worst. He was a coward.
