Why are so many sub-forums marked as private now?

I'm just wondering if anybody knows why multiple sub-forums, inluding the trapping, handloading, outdoor gear and other sub-forms are suddenly marked as private and no longer accessible, even when I'm logged into my account. I was on the site a few days ago and it wasn't like this. Is this some sort of a glitch with the new site or something else?

No idea. I just looked and can’t get on trapping ,hand loading, outdoor gear, real estate, prospecting, or safety/survival. I hope a mod can either straighten it out or let us know what is going on.

I found several forums were public since the migration to this new platform but they should be hidden.

According to the original permissions, they should be available for supporters only:

@Daveinthebush will confirm this

It is a darn good question. I know that yesterday there was a small error in the "Permissions". Like I could not post in the "Moderator Forum". It was being worked on and the person with the ability to fix it, saw other errors. When the correction for me was made, I am thinking it changed other "Permissions" too.

I will get a message to the right people to get it fixed. May not happen today though.

Merry Christmas everyone.

The original glitch also had the search feature messed up. Just did a successful one - the only one I tried, however.

So I can get into them now and they don't say private but I can't post anything.
You have to be a supported member to be able to create threads or posts on some specific forums:

This was never a problem even before the migration, so it's not something that got switched off in the process. I have been posting in these sections both before and after the migrations and it was never a problem until yesterday. AKBEE also has posted often in these sections before and I assume never had an issue.

I'm to understand then that Daveinthebush (Administrator) doesn't have sufficient privileges to post either? Are these actually supporting member only sub-forums or is this just something that's broken?

AKBEE, are you still having issues?

I can see them now, but apparently unable to start threads in a number of sections now.

I can post there now. I believe there were some switches thrown today.

But, I am not an Administrator, I'm a Moderator. The labels Mod and Admin. I think are generated by "permissions" based on what you can do. I have some responsibilities but modifying the forum content is not in my responsibilities. Member "forumtech" is the one that does that.

As to where the funding goes, I am not in that loop. That is up to the owner of the site.

Okay that's exactly what I'm seeing, I can read the threads but can't start one or reply to existing threads.

Thanks for the clarification, I was just going by the label on your profile.

I know its confusing as when I look on my page, which may be different than what you see, it says Moderator.

Didn't know that. I've switched you to be a mod.

I'm waiting for news regarding this matter and to adjust the permissions depending on the decision.
