dang bronc...nice pics....#2 looks tidal, did you get up there and then the tide went out?

what kind of boat is with you in pic #3...if it is what I think it is, he's braver than I am :)

nice pics, no clue where they're at though :)

I was able to go in and out of there high tide or low tide but did get caught once while I was glassing.

Yes you did guess the other boat correctly but I am not sure why you said he is braver than you are?

that's a great picture :)

my brave comment was just me saying that my overwhelming ignorance about big water prevents me from exploring a lot of places that I'd like to go :) I'm completely comfortable in the water as long as it is shallow enough for me to wade through with hip boots, once it gets deep enough to go over my head I get pretty nervous....:shot:

Nothing to worry about in big water it has shallow spots to! I like shallow water but my tub takes a bit more to get back on step than yours does.

OK I'll play.

OK I'll play.

Well, some excursion pics from 'round here & elsewhere. Not Wooly but a capable boat, lets see....Pardon, but my ignorance or lack of memory prevents me from posting full size pics. Instructions again and I promise I'll write it down this time. DSCN1719.jpg Great thread T.

DSCN0977.jpg Here's a couple more. HPIM0537.jpg This one is taken from my previous jet sled, my old Lowe 2048 w/ Johnson 90 Jet. Lots of memories in that old monster, great boat. So, where's the Sportjon and the Lowe?

the one with your sportjon on the shore is the salcha at about mile 24 just past cumskey's slough (spelling). the one of your old lowe with the sun in sky is also the salcha at about mile 12 or 13.

The first one looks like the entrance to Sawmill Bay out of Valdez. The second one I am not sure of but the view of an old Johnson V4 is a sight I am very familiar with though its been a few years!

GZZZZZTTTTT! Got Half of it right, but only the Salcha half, wrong on both locations. For info sake, it's Koepke slough. Salcha's good enough in this case, both boats are parked on the river within 200 yards of our cabin at 18.5 mile. Lots of views on lots of rivers look alike. It's a pretty river no matter where. As far as river miles go, lots of old river rats (me included) got a reeducation when GPS came into common use. What used to be "a long way upriver" became not near as far as we thought it was.
