Where were your sleds today??

Mine were here....and lovin' it!!! i don't have a postcard so this is the best i can do...snows good not great. crusted up makin' carvin' tough, avalanches are starting so the upper layer is wet and unstable but some areas its just good cruisin' and the sights are awesome...
an M8 will climb like crazy when the snows like this...almost scary!!

Nice Jake! My buddy and I were on that ridge back in January. It was in that area that his Ruger Mark II pistol fell out of his holster and remains on the mountain buried in snow. If you find it....

We dropped over into the next valley and looped back to the south and back to the digs. Awesome country - wishin I was there! Good luck.

jpost, oh ya been there and done that...a few times. they got alot of snow in there last month its pretty deep, some moose are stuck back up in there and can't really get out i don't think. they have little trails they walk on and thats it. spend almost all day bedded down and not moving...good thing theres no wolves up there, they'd be in a bad way if there was.

I'll bet it's deep - it was deep in January! There were a few moose in there in January and they had some serious trenches then. We saw 2 or 3 wolf tracks, but they didn't appear to get any moose. Awesome country for sure - live it up.

no worries tenmm, all you gotta do is ask!!! i did a 1500 foot straight up pull yesterday and had to turn out cause i didn't know what was on the other side of the mtn...shoulda took a pic of that for ya...i've got about 60lb on the back of the sled i figure and she just tore straight up like it was made for it...i'll admit a little spooky comin' to the top of a mtn and just pointin' right at the ol' big blue and the sun...runnin' outa realestate at 5000' is unerving....
wife told me about your little adventure you and yours are planning...have a riot trying to make it happen...!!

Great pics Jake. I all but put my sled away last month prior to going back to work thinking that by the time I recover from my lasik surgery 6 days ago most of the snow would be gone by the time I am ready to go riding again. Well plans change and I am heading up to the cabin tomrrow for a quick last ride/half hearted bear hunt

heres some shots from today, i know just more virgin snow with no tracks on it...
riding should be great this weekend, at least for climbin' and covering ground, for carving around it'll be pretty lame with the crust on it.

well machines are tucked away for the summer...kinda sad but glad i won't break them for at least 6 or 7 months!
ended up with 2314 miles on the M8 and 2005 miles on the 550LT tundra since buying them in jan., both have been great sleds, glad i spent the coint and bought new ones!!

You did block that M8 in the air, right? If not get the weight off the skis and the track. No other problems with that rear shock correct?

no probl with the shocks, i did let some air out of them for the summer...didn't know i needed to block it...it will be done.
