Where Locally (Los Anchorage) can I buy quality Gill Nets......? I don't need a lot of net, and will most likely never ever use the net. But just want it. Can I buy 30 feet or 50 feet, or is it only available in some legal set length..??

Randy at Silvertip in Kasilof has it as well.
Depending on what size you need The Gear shed in Homer (now called Redden Marine of Homer) or Silvertip can probably do custom lengths. They usually cut some up for dipnetters so if you wanted some of the same mesh size I am sure they would cut you what you want.
I believe they have Monofilament net as well as the regular stuff.
The Gear Shed has just about any kind of net you want or they can order it.

Depending on how much "quality" you need, try going through the gill net recycle bin at the dump. I pulled a pristine 300' section of sockeye net out of there last year. They had just cut off the cork/lead and pitched it. Hardly a hole in it, and those are easily mended anyhow.

Yes, that would be perfect. I hope I would never use it (My set netting days are long past) but it would be nice to have if things got bleak enough in survival situation.
