What's the point in hitting the "report" button if its ignored (multiple times)

For the life of me I cannot figure out how you expect paying members to help keep this site free of spam when after they do what they can - pressing the report button - multilple times on multiple days - goes ignored.

Does this site want spam on it? I don't think so.

Does this site encourage members to press the report button? yes, a lot

Is this site good at responding to said reports and zapping said spam? evidently not.

I'd appreciate the courtesy of a reply on this one guys.

When the spam is reported, one of the mods eventually pops online and nukes it. I zapped 2 posts and 1 user in the last 1/2 hour. Don't give up sending the spam posts, they will be removed. Thanks for helping us watch our forums.

Thanks for the encouragement. I guess all I was trying to pass on is that it gets discouraging to see multiple "reports" over multiple days not have any effect.

Likely you guys (and girls) have a lot on your plate; sorry if I expect too much, or get too impatient for results.

FM, you might not be aware also that the reports go to our email, and I don't check it constantly. I do appreciate the scouting reports and bag them ASAP, it gives me joy to get them while they are still online and spamming.

Too slow Steve just bagged me two. Of course you need a draw permit to zap spam in the canoeing forum as valley residents have Tier 1 preference.

Seriously though I at times go days without checking my email as well. The reports do help as do a pm at times. We are certainly not perfect obviously by we have a spam zapping contest going on and I need to maintain my second place status so always only pm me about it

Yeah, it was my assumption that the report button created an email to each and every mod on the spot (I could be wrong). That's why I was surprised and dismayed to see zip after multiple reports, multiple days.

And yes, I do believe you DO like hunting for spammers. No permit required, no bag or possession limit, and they're bad people that steal from us all (web site owners AND web site readers). There must be a special place in cyber hell for them; at least, I hope. ;-)

FM, you just don't know, Luke has a spread sheet for everything. He is the stats guy for sure. That's why he draws all those tags, he is the research monster.
