What is the heaviest motor you'd put on a Grumman 19 or Osage 17?

My 87lb Mercury 9.9HP and 250lb man and no load up front to balance it out makes the stern deep in the water on my 19’ with lift. But if I have a heavy load like moose or camping gear / extra fuel and whatever I can place toward the bow makes it much better. KK Alaska has the motor 8 HP Yamaha @ 58lbs which is about the perfect weight to power for the 19’ not too heavy and enough of power a perfect balance.

In my shed I have two of those OMC 15HP 2 stroke outboards. They have low hours but have not been run in years. I hope to get through this snow in the spring and will off those motors for sale at a reasonable price.

what ever you get try to stay below 90 LBS [15 hp old omc ] but did run a 4 cycle 15 hp onc for a couple of years
[ 120 lbs I think ] the more weight in the motor the more weight in the bow to balance it out ,

The only 15HP that’s below 90lbs is the Yamaha 2 Stroke 15” I know of.
My current 9.9 Hp Merc is very close to that 90lbs.
For the ease of installing and taking off I would like to find a 8HP Yamaha 2 Stoke at 58 pounds.

That sounds like a great deal! I'm sure these motors will be in great condition and be a great purchase for someone who is looking for a good outboard motor. Good luck with the sale!

Hey katkayes, which do you think was the more ridiculous and worthless invention; the Bass-O-Matic, or the chat bot?
