There are halibut within 15 miles of Whittier!!!! If you can make it to rugged island u can make it to halibut in Whittier if and when you find a spot keep it tight lipped unless you wanna tell me!!!!!
Are you throwing the anchor out? or are you drifting? sorry to pryCheeser, I fish 300' or a little more most of the time.

I anchor up also. I also will play the waiting game. Not too many people want to do that, but I am just waiting for the pots to be pulled anyway. Good friends, good music, and a good beverage make it so easy just to hang around and enjoy the scenery!
Add my stern mounted BBQ and its on!!:ditto: How much more relaxing can a day on the water be?
