Hey All,

I have an electric head and when I divert the waste to the holding tank, sometimes the waste will come out of the vent. Any thoughts on what the problem could be? I thought maybe it was a clog somewhere but it is an intermittent problem.

Could be a couple of different things; first, you mention that it intermittantly comes out the vent...is it the vent or the overboard discharge? If it's the discharge, it sounds like the valve is either leaking or partially in the overboard position....if it comes out the vent, then it sounds like the vent line may not have a loop in it or when the head flushes, it splashes up over the vent line where it connects to the tank and forces excess out the vent. If this is the case, it might make a difference how the boat is loaded and how full the black water tank is...is your boat new and still under warranty? Just some ideas here....

Full tank?

Full tank?

The one time I had black water leak out the vent on my Seasport was because the tank was full. It doesn't take long to fill up with a family onboard.

Thanks for your help. I am going to check out the loop. That makes sense. The I am the 2nd owner of the boat and it is out of warranty.(1994 model) I have not chased all the lines so it could be operator error also. However, I do know that it is the vent.

Thanks again

Hey Dream Catcher,

You were right. We thought we had dumped before we took her out of the water. She was full. Now I have to keep her heated until I can get it sucked out.

Thanks for your input.

What model Seasport do u have?
