I'll be working the AOC booth while keeping an eye on FB, chained to the blue ribbon committee booth.

HA HA, I can see FB, Andy and Bruce all having a cup of coffee together discussing sharing the burden of conservation. Maybe we can get Jeff Fox to join them

Hey it takes a lot of talent to pull me into you guys trap, I commend you salmon_boner. I don't know why you use my friend the Potbuilders thread to antagonize me.
Commercial fishermen have been sharing the burden of conservation long before Andy and Bruce got on their little committee that my tax dollars pay for. The only conservation they're concerned w/ is conserving the king holes for their out of state clients. I know one thing they'll be concerned w/ preserving, and thats their butts and their careers when the FBI gets done investigating the shenanigans of the Borough ever since the the crooked tycoon Mayor Menard (RIP) started that committee. He started it to "study how many guide dollars came to the valley" that was the Frontiersmans exact words when the committee was formed. Its called racketeering and its a federal offense. Back to the thread---look forward to seeing you Steve!

FB, I grew up playing hockey with Menards son going as far back as I can remember, he was my wife's dentist her entire childhood and I am sure I am not the only one here who had a good deal of respect for him. Alaska is still small and while it's one thing to disagree on policy or position it is quite another to repeatedly and publicly defame a dead man. One thing that I had driven into my head as a young hockey player by people like Curt was that regardless of the outcome in any game or situation to carry myself with class. It is a good lesson....

It wasn't Curt I was talking about LuJon it was I think his dad, Lindas husband. I have nothing against the man other than him illegally using borough tax dollars to fund a private enterprise

<edit> Mayor Menard (RIP) died of cancer, Curt Menard (RIP) died in a plane crash

<edit #2> it is not my intention to defame anybody but I will tell the truth.

You are right on both accounts and equally wrong. Curt C Menard died in a plane crash I believe near Lake Illiamna if I recall correctly. His Dad the former Mayor and husband to Linda died of cancer and was also named Curtis. I can't imagine what it must be like to deal with the tragedy of losing both a husband and a son like that and still serve in political office. I may not agree with all of the decisions they make but I do respect that they are doing what they feel is right for the community.
