Will my annual Alaska boat launch permit work at the Valdez boat ramps? Thanks.

If I remember correctly, a season Valdez launch pass was $75 last year. Call the Harbormaster's office and they can fill you in.

It's still the same this year: $10 per day / $75 annual. Harbor float and launch ramp reconstruction is scheduled to begin toward the end of September. Should be status quo until then.

Still lots of snow in the parking area with many stored boats. Launch is doable and wasn't icy the other day. Just a few more higher temperature days and I'm ready to launch.

Harbormaster said they got plowed out yesterday and had parking available(?).

A couple snowbird vehicles are moved but still many boats stored in the parking area. Two rigs were parked. Room for maybe two more. Supposed to rain so maybe some snow will clear. Still really congested.

Our harbor crew is working hard to get things opened up. It is quite a process. Still many people with boats in the storage area are not cleared around or moving out. Parking is limited, "unless" you want to part over kitty-corner to Radio Shack. That lot although not entirely cleared is in pretty good shape with at least 20 spots open. The weather reports this weekend say, "Make extra coffee and find a good movie." I haven't been over to the new harbor yet.

We got in and out last week for the shrimp opener with no issues. My only gripe is the rinse water station was not in service!!!

You guys got a Radio Shack?! That's crazy! They closed up the ones in Kenai and Soldotna years ago.

Yep! They even sell shrimp bait and firearms.

I don't know if any of the visitors here ever have to go to Valdez Medical Clinic attached to the hospital. But if your over here and need medical attention it is best to go to the Providence ER on the other side. The clinic is closing and will be phased out by June.

Seems like he is usually not open until end of May...? I know he has been wanting to sell and felt pretty positive 2022 was the year...
I looked on our local real estate page and found nothing that he listed. Doesn't mean he has already sold it. Very little going on here right now for fishing anyways. Yelloweye closes May 1st with other rockfish restrictions. Military appreciation weekend is Memorial Day weekend. He'll probably open by then.

City must have hired an independent contractor to clear snow. He was working between the boats today. Also a few of the seiner crews are showing up so it is getting busier. The south shore fuel dock is open. I didn't ask the hours but at least it is open.
