I have a 18' alumaweld stryker and would like to make it to the bligh reef area.
Can anyone tell me if the areas withen 3 miles in any direction is worth fishing. Looks to me like a great yellow eye and ling cod area. Is thier any halibut to be found ??
Im headed that direction this weekend and so far the weather forecast looks like 10 kt winds seas 1-2 feet.
Anyways any info would be great. In good weather 30-35 miles is my comfortzone.
Good luck to everyone.

Yes. I was raised commercial salmon fishing in that area and there's halibut in there but I won't give up my secret hole. BE cautious with the evening winds kicking up - I've lost friends out there. Winds get bad hit the beach. PM me for a better location.

I am asuming you have a GPS and a depth finder. You can catch Halibut and rock fish around Entrance Island. The third place fish in this years Halibut derby was caught in that area.
