Would love to hear stories of anyone who is coming off the river this week. I was there last week. Almost canceled because water was down to 797 cfs (1400 is avg). Three days later it was up to 3600 and overnight it went to 7200 this morning and is now at 7640! These are the highest levels in recorded gauge history for this time of year.

Ok....All you had to do is just ask!

Well we had our last group on the upper river last weekend and they pulled off on Tuesday afternoon. The water was very low..and then the rain came....We have had water like I have never seen in over 20 years. I don't know the totals but I left a raft laying flat and there is now 6+ inches of water in the dam thing. The river has come up over 3 feet this week and it is running at break-up levels. I don't know any first hand info on the Paxon down to the Middle Fork but it is HIGH!

We are shutting down for the season this weekend because it is time to head back to the classroom. We are not offering any rentals except for groups who want to do float hunts and only 14 foot packages. All of our SOAR canoes are on their way to Kotzebue for the fall Dolly spawn run.

Thank you for a great season and shoot me a PM if you have any questions or if your looking at 2019 hunts.

I bet the Canyon looks a little bit like Devil's Canyon right about now. I was hoping to do another float in early September. Hope the water returns to normal by then. Walt, do you know if that logjam is still an issue below the fish tower and upstream from the West fork confluence?

40 mile conditions?

40 mile conditions?

I'm trying to figure out how to start a new thread; and failing. :(
So, sorry to intrude here. Does anybody know about 40mile river conditions? (middle fork, north fork)

Here, I think I can help. Here is a recent graph from the South fork, and the main fork at the Taylor highway bridge, which is downstream of the Middle and North fork. The Middle and North fork are probably both too remote. But this might give you an idea. It looks like they might be a little bit high, but not currently in flood stage. Are you floating here soon? It's a good float. I did it years ago. Beautiful country.

On my screen, at the top of the main page on the left side, just below the page picture there is a grey bubble with the caption "post new thread".
