So headed out around 7:00AM this morning to work my way up through units 14 and 16. After making the usual pitstop at the gas station for drinks/snacks and coffee we headed up to Baitem907's shop to meet up with Jess and pick up my scent balls (spearmint/banana/maple and peppermint/raspberry/cotton candy). Weather was great and temps were very nice. Arrived at petersville rd and man it was a mad house back there so we decided to push up north (as we were walking in). a bit later we arrived at the location we thought would be fair. Snow depths were around 2-3 foot still in areas but was getting soft and wet due to the raising temps. moderate activity out there where we hoofed it to (total distance into the bush was around 5.5-6 miles). Some fresh bear tracks and scat were found but not enough to raise the green flag and go wild over.

I was NOT trying to be anything but helpful, I know the area and did not want you to find your station in the center of a large lake in 3 weeks. I wish you great success with the bears. And THANK YOU for your service..........A Deep, Deep Thank You.

Cool pics. Looks like you had a good adventure. You'll definitely get into some bears in that area...

hey man absolutely no problem at all bud :) the "big lake" is actually about 5 miles in from the road (trust me I found it and the remote cabin out there). my hunting location is around 2 miles away from the cabin and about 4 miles from the road (not giving out specific locations due to findings when I was out there today lol). I really do hope I can get into some bears this year before heading back to play with the slightly easier to bait hunt taliban. my only real issue is going to be pulling the gear back out in late spring close to the end of the season (quads can get back there but its going to be a tight fit).

thanks again for the insight though it is appreciated.

Great info. I'm not planning on baiting that far north but above the bridge is where I'm looking at so it's a good thing I'm not wasting the gas money to go scout up there yet.

Rep coming your way.

Yah I am checking out a few areas closer tomorrow but want to get the best possible area for the amount of time I will be allocated to hunt it. Got a few tricks up my sleeves to assist in the "baiting" running a few honey pots and some (laugh if you want to but it may just work) Victoria secret "Love Spell" body spray in a home made drip setup. The body spray (girly stuff) is VERY potent and "sweet berry" smelling. I figured I might as well give it a try and see what it produces at station #2
