After checking and researching, I have 205/75-14 C's on now. About the best I can do is a 215/75-14 D's (2,200#/tire) unless I want to buy new rims and hubs  OK because my trailer is 4,863# dry with a GVWR of 7,500#. 4 X 2,200 = 8,800 which gives me a decent safety margin. Leaning toward the GY Endurance.

I also have TPMS for my trailer which is great peace of mind.

The issue with buying tires online is having someone local to mount them. When I got tires for the truck last fall Point S wouldn't install tires unless you purchased from them. I like Point S because they had a decent price and they are a huge chain. If I have an issue with a tire I purchased from them they will take care of it. Worth paying a little more, IMHO.

I hate to mention it but amazon has some good prices on tires and with prime they ship free. You really need to do a detailed search tho

The GY endurance seems like a great tire for sure

True about the tire shops not wanting to mount them, but that’s weird about point S because they have done it for me in the past. Last spring they did it for me, but policy may have changed.

For what it’s worth, I found these on Amazon with Prime shipping. 12 ply, load range F in 225/75/15. Good deal if you need a beefy tire for a big load.

Point S can get both of these tires in about a weeks time after ordering. They quoted me $20-$40 more per tire than Amazon. Still not bad if you’re wanting to buy “local”

Call GCR tires, they should be able to provide any tire you need and they will be a good brand,

As well as these Goodyear Endurance with Prime shipping.

Go with the GY Endurance. I had these on my old bumper pull toy hauler and never had an issue. Drove from NC to Fairbanks on those. Have them on my utility trailer. 12 or 14 ply would be an overkill for that light of a trailer. Plus, you’ll have to spend a considerable amount more for quality 12 or 14 ply. I have Hankook TH31 14 ply on my fifth wheel toyhauler and they’ve been great. My GVWR is 16k on the fifth wheel.

I pull a 27' Desert Fox Toy Hauler dry weight at 8800lbs. I only put Hercules 901 series tires on my trailers and campers. Check 'em out. Good luck.

Tried them, they said they’re pretty hard pressed for tires at the moment. But he did tell me that Goodyear recently bought Cooper tires, so they should be able to get Goodyear tires soon

Honestly the Goodyear is probably going to be what I end up with.

I put a set of the Trans Eagle 14 ply on my 14k 20' flat bed trailer that is usually loaded heavy about 2 years ago, great tires, great reviews on Amazon, I wouldn't hesitate to buy again and plan to put a set on my 4 horse trailer

Time for new tires on my 29’ terry with a DRY weight of 7,600. I always travel with the fresh tank full and a fully stocked fridge and cupboards, so total weight is probably 8,600 lbs.

Current tire size is 205/75/R15, I am definitely going to 225/75/R15, but before I go purchase the standard E rated 10 ply my question is this…

Has anyone used the more heavy duty g or f rated tires? I believe they are 12 and 14 ply. I’ve seen them on some of the big 5th wheels, but don’t recall seeing them anywhere else.

Basically I’m looking for a tire that will give me the best performance and longevity. Sure, these tires may be a tad overkill, but I figured they’d be hard to puncture and would probably last forever.

Any insight at all?
I would highly recommend a brand named LoadStar for trailer tires. I've had numerous trailers over the years and through trial and error these are the only ones I will run on my trailers. Most of these were snowmobile trailers and I have never had an issue with loadstar tires. Years ago I tried to save a few dollars and bought a different brand and after 1 year of use the tires began to have sidewall bulges and fail, the store replaced them with another brand they stocked and those also failed. That was when I went back to LoadStar. I've ran them on a 2 place enclosed and my 27' enclosed snowmibile trailers with 5 snowmobiles and never once had an issue with the Loadstar Brand. Highly recommend from me. They are what a lot of the trialers come with from the factory.

Best of luck

My experience, I had a blowout on my 5th wheel with 14 ply Goodyear tires going around 65 mph. The tire absolutely disinserted into a million pieces and that was a good thing because there was very little damage to my trailer (which I think that was alot less than the guy's shorts that was trailing beside me) The blowout popped 3 screws lose on the wheel well skirting. I felt very lucky because I have seen and heard many stories of internal and external damages from tires blowing out.

Costco was where we bought our GreenBall tires. We had been camping and were inside the trailer when we heard a LOUD bang. Check around and a tire had blown up. We changed the tire and limped back home. Ordered 4 replacement tires from Costco and changed them out 2 at a time as I had to install them on the trailer. Shortly after that we traded in the trailer so don't know how long those GreenBall tires lasted. They were good for the several trips we took with them.

New trailer has been good to us and I'm following these stories on new tires for it. I'm thinking GY Endurance tires like urbanhillbilly. Will be looking forward to the rest of his story!

I have looked at trailer and ATV tires at Costco before but when looking online it always says that they can not be sent to AK. Were you able to order them in store and have sent to the store for pick up?

I recommend checking with Costco. That is where I got mine in California.

I talked to the Costco tire guy on Sunday (Dimond). I asked if I purchased tires from them would they install and how much. He said they wouldn't install trailer tires. He said something about the 14" rims being to small for their machine? Maybe they would do 15"+? Anyways, I researched the Greenball (made in China) and they have some pretty bad reviews on RV sites. Lots of exploding tires.

I'm think I'm going to go with GY Endurance 215/75-14 D from Point S. 215/75-14 D. Thanks.
