Don’t think Mother Nature wants her spot shrimp pulled off the sea floor yet. Sure getting a lot of put-off maintenance done on the boat, she’ll be shipshape and bristle fashion throughout by the time the keel gets wet.

But who knows, maybe the forecast will moderate in the coming days; it wouldn’t be the first time. One can only hope!!

The early warm temps in March didn’t carry over into April, so it seems the season is early but the current weather is pretty much standard for this time of year, frustrating for sure.

Tonight
E wind 30 kt. Seas 6ft. Highest winds and seas S of seal island. Rain and snow.
Wed
E wind 20 kt. Seas 4ft. Rain and snow.
Wed Night
E wind 10 kt. Seas 2ft. Rain.
Thu And Thu Night
S wind 15 kt. Seas 3ft.
Fri
SE wind 30 kt. Seas 6ft.
Sat
E wind 25 kt. Seas 6ft.
Sun
SE wind 20 kt. Seas 4ft.

I have been watching it as well. I canceled my trips out this week. Same case as you, getting some extra work done instead. Just bought new house batteries.

I just got a call from Gywn who runs the lot. It's snowing hard down there. She was set to open the lot tomorrow. She said there is already close to a foot of snow in the lot and it's coming down hard. I checked the weather cam and it's all white!!

If you guys want to go this weekend I can point you to a few areas Andy could really test his boat. :)

Gonna be a fun weekend of boat projects for me. :)

Can't this weekend but the following 3 poles and Bloodsport along with old skool and knot too shabby should be pulling pots out there somewhere. We need to raft up with you, event horizon, and spoiled one!

I might be out there on the weekend of the 25th-26th. Big maybe, and would likely only be out Saturday night since we cruise at 8 kts, but would be fun to say hello to some folks in passing.

Kids have recitals that weekend but I would love to swing by and say hi sometime on the water Brian. I only ever see you at the dock!

I have seen him on water leaving port, once. If I would have blinked, I would have missed him. Big difference between 32 knots and 8 knots! :nyanya:

They do look comfortable, though. It's not like we rough it, though. lol

We have certainly had some comfortable nights on the water with great "comfort" food!

Well, with our boat being a family operation, you never know who might or might not be on board when you see us on the water. That said, I'm hoping to make a few pleasure trips in addition to work trips this year, and I'll try to stay in touch with the regulars on here when we do so. Would be great to meet up!

Yep, we are canceling our trip too. Unless the weather drastically changes. It's no fun in rough weather for the first trip of the year. Hope we can all launch on the 24th or so and anchor up for the weekend talking crap and eating fresh shrimp.

Early yesterday morning I reserved an extra two nights at Squirrel cove cabin.....for tonight and tomorrow night (already have 4 nights after that then Paulson bay for 2 nights)....think I'm going to wait a day or maybe two. Guess I could hide out in the cabin or actually finish boat chores......

In Whittier right now - figured I would dewinterize the boat and load gear in case next weekend works out. Man, it is downright nasty out! Snow/rain mix falling sideways, but the stove is slowly warming up and the beer is dark and cold. Now if I can just figure out the fuel supply problem that cropped up, we might be game for next weekend.

Glad we canceled also! We are leaving either Wednesday night or Thursday morning for a long weekend of shrimping. If you see us stop by and say hi and have a drink. We'll meet up with Knott To Shabby on Friday........! ........Redneck.......

Yeah it's nasty in turnagain oass. Yesterday. Might even have been the worse wind I've seen in years. Actually followed about a 28' Alumsweld??? Along the arm. He pulled off towards Whittier. I'm curious if he knew what he was about to get into or not.

Weather looks more like we're heading into winter instead of out of it. I'm loaded and ready to go, so I'll jump on the first 3 day band of "doable" I see. In my minimalist little rig, crumby weather always feels like REALLY, REALLY CRUMBY WEATHER!
