Tiekel River

Topo's show that the Tiekel River flows from the Richardson Highway from Stuarts Creek over to the Copper River. Is it floatable? Has anyone tried it?

60ft waterfall is about 5 miles upstream from the copper. The first survey team in 1930s in a wooden scow didn't make it. It gets fast and tight quick in there.

Not really

Embick rated it class VI- with several difficult portages, only for technical kayakers with endurance. He said it is lethal at all flows, except extreme low flows.

Just look at the Tiekel River frim the highway....you will not want to go in there...not ever.
And I ain't kiddin.
