After reading this about a month ago I ordered 2 pair of the Merino Tech boxer briefs from Amazon. They are the best I’ve ever worn and I ordered 2 more pair. Eventually they will replace all of my others.
Better be careful or you will get addicted to this stuff I have replaced all my cotton socks, boxers, t-shirts, base layers and long-sleeved dress shirts with Marino Wool. Because the wool fibers are so fine it feels as smooth as silk, but pulls moisture off your body and then evaporates it. Cotton absorbs moisture and holds it and then your body heat causes bacteria to grow and then you start stinking. Each MW fiber is hollow and adjusts to your body temperature which helps to keep you cool or warm, they are also naturally coated with lanolin which is anti-bacterial and prevents bacteria growth which is why you won't stink.
It is wrinkle resistant and when I take one of my dress shirts off, I hang it in the closet and the next day it will look like I ironed it. I wash my MW in cold water with woolite on the delicates cycle and then put it on a clothes rack to dry. Some people dry it in the dryer with no heat, but I am not comfortable with that. If you have pilling you can put a piece of denim clothing in with it and it will remove the pilling. The downside is; it is expensive however, it wears like iron and you don't need as much of it as cotton.
Apparently Marino wool was initially discovered by young people who want to explore the world and travel with minimal amounts of clothing and wanted clothing that can be worn for extended periods of time without turning into a stinking ball of wrinkled cotton after one day.
I sound like a MW salesman LOL, but I'm not, just love the stuff.
Personally, I prefer Alaskan Skids brand in Brown. They hide everything. Just kidding.
I like the Helly Hansen Merino Boxers and the Outdoor Research brands are also worth trying I have both. As said above, Icebreaker and the Minus 33 are the standard all others are measured against.
