Good to hear, sounds like you've got a good one! My ACDs do lick their paws but if it's excessive, I holler and they stop. Usually, more so when they need a toenail trim, so I suppose it's my fault.

I would say that after reading 4erguides’ grouse story, regardless of whether she ends up being super dog or not, both of you are winning big. Congrats on your new friend!

Curious if we have any pro bird dog trainers on the forum? Like I mentioned above I did train a chessie that turned out amazing, but she was a pup when I started. Of course I knew all about training a pup but that was very long ago and I know I’m setting myself up for a challenge to turn a 5 year old into a bird dog. Just thought it would be nice to bend the ear of a professional if I need to. Thanks.

Join your local NAVDHA group. There is an active Kenai group. Lots of help available within the club. It’s fun to get together and run your dogs.
