If stuck out and living off the land with enemies in the hills I would feel in great company with Taiga,Marcus,Hippy and Bushrat at my side. We may well not think alike on all but I would love to share a cup of coffee with them. An evening fire can be boring without sharing divergent ideas before blowing out the candle and saying goodnight.

Coming from an old Veteran and long time Alaskan such as yourself, Will, I couldn't envision a more humbling compliment. As the others have said, you're welcome at my fire anytime.

In the 60's I knocked a hippie or two in the head but most were OK folks with me. When I ran away from home spring of 64 and came to Alaska the first time it was with a Beatniks family the hippies of the time. I have never been against draft dodgers as I prefered them home instead of not wanting to be in combat next to me. Beatniks,hippies and modern grungers can all be good folk depending on the person and how they raise their kids. I have found good and bad in all people including myself. A mentor in my life back in the 70's told we once that I would be a hell of a man if I could just control my temper and I believe I'm better for it.
