Where was everyone at today? I went up the Steese with a friend today and was surprised there was not many people there. We know of 3 different trucks (4 hunters total) that were there today from 7-2 and all of us bagged caribou. The road was in great condition. There not in huge numbers but apparently theres enough. 2 of the bou were shot just off the road and the other 2 that myself and another guy shot were about 400 yards off right next to a beat down snowmachine trail. We had a group of a little over 20 come walking right by us at about 60-70 yards. One thing to note was the amount of moose we saw. We counted 20 just driving up there. Temp was at about -22 early, then warmed up quickly to about -2 once the sun was high. No winds made it great.
