+1 on the thanks to TJM and family for coordinating all of us ADD jet boat drivers. I had a great time and my only regret is that I may not be able to attend next year's event. The firewood from jkb and the dutch oven gourmet from Arctic Import were also greatly appreciated. Thank you to Bob the fisher for letting me know "there's 50# fish in here buddy...." If any of you guys ever make it down to eastern Montana and wanna run the Yellowstone, there will always be an open seat.

P.S.: Who needs an inboard?

This was one of the best jet boat outings I have ever been on. I met and made a lot of new friends and that was very special. I do not know how many miles others ran on the river, but I ran just over 190 miles and loved every inch of it. tjm and Tamara done an outstanding job of putting this event together. If it was not for all their time and dedication they put forth for this event, it would of not been the success that it was. Thanks again. For all of the ones that could not make it, all I can say is you missed a great time. Looking forward to the next jet boat gathering.

Too Much Fun!

Too Much Fun!

Wow! Guys n Gals, what a weekend! Sorry I havn't responded before this but I just got back in off the river with the family :), but someone had to do it. 8 of us, 3 dogs and gear, blew through Fairbanks upon returning from Susitna, grabbed everyone and we were back on the water an hour after we hit town.
T you pretty much covered it, but I had to weigh in. Jesse and I really enjoyed getting to know each and every one of you. For all that had anything to do with the logistics, from the setup with Jeff at the landing to the buying of the food to scouting and knowing the river, a rousing THANKS and job well done. With any event there are the ladies behind the scenes handling food prep and any zillion other details, you gals are incredible.

Before I go one step farther along, I/we would be completely remiss to not mention here the reason we all CAN celebrate Memorial Day weekend. There were plenty of flags being flown and to you BobtheFisher goes the top tip of the hat for the most prominent. For all of you that frequent here and those that attended that have served under our Stars & Stripes, Thank You from a grateful group and Nation. Most especially for those that have no further trails or river runs before them, we give our most sincere thanks to you and your families "that have laid so costly a sacrifice on the altar of freedom". We stopped in at the Vietnam Vets Memorial at MP 147 on the Parks Highway to pay our respects and almost ended up in a 500 motorcycle freedom ride in honor of the day! Pretty special from where I sit. At the memorial itself as we walked in sat a very old gentleman in a wheelchair with his wife. He had enough medals pinned on his jacket to take your breath away and campaign pins to back them up. :proud: As I looked over at him all I could do was wonder what those eyes had seen and be grateful for the selfless sacrifice that so many of his generation chose to give that so many take for granted today. We honor them with our gatherings each and every time. As we left them there in silence, I walked over to him, shook his hand and thanked him for all he had done. I received this in reply, "My pleasure". Some of it I'm sure wasn't, but it was indeed from his heart. Thanks again.

Coming home from the Susitna early wasn't in the cards when this all started and I'm sorry I missed the Hooligan run and the pike murdering process. Family time trumps it with everyone being off through today and with grandbabies involved had to head home.

I will tell you I spent a bit of time yesterday and today eyeballing the potential site for next years gathering and I feel it's about as good as it gets for access to a variety of types of jetboating, both clear and glacial water. We'll just have to see how it plays out later.

Uh, Ahem, there seems to be more proof of a certain unnamed operator and his steed that needs just a bit more water under it Fozzy and Willie....Oops did I say that??
A kick *** time for sure. And to you Darrel, 1875XA, and of course you too Bill, you will never let me forget my lack of cognizant memory. Glad you got your impeller problems sorted out and could get out on Sunday and Monday. Too ma DSCN1707.jpg ny late nights getting ready for me I suppose:shot:. No matter, you and every last one of all of the rest of you are welcome at any campfire of mine anytime. DSCN1688.jpg

What a wonderful bunch of people. Thanks to every one. I had a wonderful time and the learning experience was fantastic. Now all I have to do is get retired, get our new home built, find the $$$$$$ for the "right" boat, and then learn, learn, learn (or play, play, play)! I hope I am as generous and helpful to newbies as you great folks have been to me.

Sounds like a lotta fun was had. Wish I could've been there tho my boat would've come in last in that race, lol,

Next year you guys ought to incorparate a golf run on the sandbars as you go up the rivers to raise some money.( have somebody set up some par 3's on certain bars)

Great story and pic's.

Little sheepish to reply here, but NEED to say thanks to T and Tamara for a great get together. It was awesome to meet ya'll and share some memories(mostly on land, yeah yeah yeah. I'm still sick by the way). It is rare for anybody to experience the weather we had up there, and I am going to give full credit to TJM for picking the exact right days for an event such as this... epic! I am not sure how we will make next year better, but I do know that with all the people involved this year, next year will be bigger and better! CAN'T WAIT!

p.s. I dont think it was fair of Bob to keep a full year old king in his ice chest and then lift it out when nobody was lookin, i'm just sayin ;)

My wife, son, and I drove up for the day on Saturday and had a great time! The lunch was wonderful, weather was spectacular, and the boat ride up the Big Su and around the area was so much fun. Thanks to everyone for their hospitality on and off the water. Here's another picture that I don't believe anyone has posted yet, t anchored on a stump waiting for the rest of us to return from our "spirited" run.

The picture was right after they got wet. Our son Sam is the one standing with the orange shirt. My wife and I really enjoyed the ride c-bolt, thanks for taking us.

I have an 18 ft Jetcraft with a 115 Yamaha that I just switched from prop to jet. Hopefully we can join you guys with our boat on the next gathering. We probably won't be able to keep up with you on the river though
