Spotting Scopes you can attach cameras too

We're in the market for a new spotting scope and I've seen some that you can attack a digital camera too (a decent one with lens attachments--not a little point and shoot...), which looks awesome as my wife is an avid amateur photographer. The trouble is that they seem to be crazy expensive.

Does anyone know any more about these sorts of scopes/scope attachments and if there are any mid-priced lines? I know good class costs money, but something in the "few hundred bucks" range as opposed to the "$1G+" range would be nice...
