How many people ride them up there?? I am moving to Anchorage and was wondering about the riding around that area. I am all set up for desert racing which is alot of suspension work and power upgrades. I normaly ride at an average speed of 40-60 mph over rough terrain and on a race occasion in the snow. I see most of you ride utility quads so I'm sure the trails are plenty big and numerous but doubt I will be going very fast on them.

Does anybody know if there is any racing going on either? Anyway thanks for any help.

thanks, I'll have to check it out when I get there. Not really my thing being confined to a little tiny track, but might get some good info from people there.

Well that answer gives me more information than anything:)

Sport Quad= An ATV that has too much power for it's weight, low ground clearance, is really loud, and is faster than it should be. Also they are mostly usless for hauling anything but A$$.:p

Sounds like my 700 Prairie except I can still throw most of a moose on it :)
Some of the trails here will be fun for a sport bike but 99% of your riding will be Kincaid Park or Jim Creek.

I thought I wanted one. Till i got one. Too fast for me.
If anybody out there wants a preadator 500 let me know.
I would consider trading for a 350-500 cc utlity quad.

A majority of trails "can" be ridden with a 2WD quad with a bit of skill and a heavy throttle. You may need lots of friends as pulling your buddy though all the holes gets old fast. Even Jim Creek has bad days for 2 WD. Average speed can vary, but you will find 25-35 average. People that go to fast for conditions usually get Helicopter rides. Some places (like Eureka) don't even get cell phone reception, so you can call for help.

Valley trash.....and proud of it.
I know there is a race track in the Butte. Not sure if they allow quads. I know to race you have to have full gear.

kincaid isnt bad but it gets real busy.

you also got the mines in sutton that alot of sport bikes go. I've also seen quite a few out at king river.
