Last weekend a fellow coworker got into them good in Soldotna. But last night some friends went and said there were no fish. A lot of the early Russian run has probably made it up there. They usually move through pretty fast, so there will be some big breaks in the action down in the Soldotna area till the next run starts. Best bet would probably be to actually fish the Cooper Landing area now for scokeyes.....
Picked up one in about 30 minutes in soldotna until some dude came down and started picking fights with people and made it so uncomfortable we left. I thought someone was about to get shot
I misunderstood, I thought the OP was talking about fishing the Russian while in Soldotna. Fathers Day week (June 15-20 timeframe) is typically peak run timing for the Russian.
With record numbers of sox encountered by the tidewater test net in the LKR, this run will be one to write home about.
You were correct doc I fished the lower river 4 hrs on Saturday no fish didn't touch 1 then I went up to the ferry and got 1 I only fished for an hour then had to catch the boat back at 1045 still had fun I'll be back in July I just came up for the weekend I had a blast
