Having myself a pretty darn good time this first week and a half of season. A dozen rats, a couple weasels, one beaver, one lynx and one marten so far! The lynx is a hog, measured out at 46 inches. Caught him up in 13.
Limon, I'm gonna end up selling this one. I kept a big one that I got a couple years ago and had it tanned, makes a beautiful wall hanger!
Alaskanfever, figured I may as well clarify before someone accused me, ya know? I wouldn't lie, my partner and I have plenty of sets out up that way from Gunsite to Lake Louise.
Brian and Bushwack Jack, thank you guys very much!
AK A Fan i just joke about it because 2 years ago i ended up catching one 5 days before season started. And the wildlife troopers seemed way to excited to receive it when i turned it in.
Awesome.. Makes me wish i had time to run a few traps. Curious if you have ever eaten lynx meat. It is really good.. But you do have to cook it thoroughly.
Caught lynx number two in a snare this morning, and took advantage of that recent warm spell and got after the muskrats for a few days. Managed eight of them before I got frozen out again. Also caught a second marten a couple weeks ago, but pulled all those sets the same day due to some weather issues. With all the strange weather we've had, I can't complain a bit with how my season has gone so far.
