I havent rode there but got this off the CNF website The road has many areas of glaciation that are currently frozen hard but may pose a problem during periods of warm weather. Many moguls between the parking area and Rainbow Lake. 45+" snow depth at parking area. 02/28
Yeah, I saw those comments as I check the Avalanche forcast quite frequently. I've got a new guy comming with me and am looking for a good place to take him. I was thinking somewhere super flat/open like Nancy lakes for him to get his bearings but I'm betting with the recent blows the lakes are pretty barren of powder and the hills on the trails in are icy/brutal.
I was up there a few weeks ago, the road from the parking lot to the rainbow lake trail was brutal then, we did find some good riding in some places, we ended up going all the way into lost lake, however, I do not think it has snowed there much since then, I might be wrong. Me and 4 or 5 other guys are going to go up on sunday, a couple of them are newbies so we are just gonna go up and let them get the feel for their sleds, I will give a report when I get back
