Has anyone fished the russian river from the campground down to the confluence of the Kenai lately. I was just wondering if there are any silvers to be caught down there. Any recent fishing reports would help.

I fished from the power line down to the ferry crossing on Sunday. We were fishing beads for rainbows/dollies, but did see a fair number of silvers. Most of them had quite a bit of color, but there were some chromers mixed in. Fishing was tough do to all the leaves in the water as well as the worst wind I have ever seen on the Russian itself. Sure beats working, though!

Powerline UP to the Ferry or did all the flooding reverse the flow of the river?

several of us fished the Russian Monday at it was full of leaves, higher than usual, low visibility, but still fishable. We hooked some smaller rainbows with egg imitation flies. (12 to 14 inchers). We had a close encounter with a large cottonwood broken off and the whole thing slammed to the ground 70 feet from us, maybe 1/2 a second between the 50mph gust of wind breaking the base of it and it hitting the ground. We also saw a Lynx on the road. You are right, better that working.

Can you still camp in the campground and pay at the drop box? Do they close the road up to the Grayling parking lot?
Thanks

Closes after Labor Day

Closes after Labor Day

I drove through in mid September and the camping loops were all gated and locked......at least the ones I looked at

I think the only thing there now is the parking lot which was open .......

Kind of silly that they consider camping to be over in early September

(IMHO)
