Running the Big Susitna North from Susitna Landing

I run and Wooly Alaskan II and was looking for any information / words of wisdom running the Big Susitna North from Susitna Landing up to Montana area.


Is in common to run the river in the tighter sloughs to the East or the wider sections to the West? Looking at the maps I was thinking the East braids.


Land use, Does anyone know the general land use situation in this area or good resources for it? I.E. I would like to scout out some Moose hunting areas that are away from private land.


Any other general info / advice from experienced people about this section would also be appreciated.

You can take nearly any braid you'd like from Landing up to montana cr....the east side is more direct...

here's a pic of a crew of boats headed up the east side above the landing...
