Wanting to take my girls down dip netting this year to the Copper River with our 5th wheel so we can bring the wheelers and have a chest freezer to put all our fish in.

Recomendations for places to stay? Are there any places on the river to camp with the large 5th wheeler that we can actually fish? We will be shore dipping.

thanks

There are multiple pull offs just before the drop down to O'Brien Creek.
Wide enough for diagonal parking for a pickup pulling a trailer and then some. (personal experience)
And for dozen or more of the same at multiple pulloffs.
People basically set up camp at these spots. I'd guess other than July 4 weekend and weekends where large runs are expected (from Miles Lake sonar counts) there would be space available no problem. The right of way is fairly wide. You can then get down to O'Brien Creek with your 4-wheeler or down the canyon.
These pulloffs were improvements made from Monies the Chitina Dipnetters Association managed to get from the Legislator some years ago.

There is also plenty of parking at the bridge, but the road has eroded badly just past the rock cut and no large vehicles can make it past. It looks pretty bad and they have engineers taking a look to see what can be done. Right now I'd be puckering pretty heavy just towing my boat through that section.

Press release can be found here.

Secret Source says this photo does not show the foot wide cracks on the uphill side.

There is an RV park about 5 miles before Chitina. I think it's called Wrangell View, full hook ups but you just have to drive to the fishing area.
