I went round and round for the last year trying to decide on the right tire for my all Alaska usauge and I can tell you from past experience that MudLites, 589's, and SwampLites werent it. Its got to be a trail freindly tire but also a true mud tire that doesn;t dig, We all know Alaska Mud often has no bottom , so a mud tire that paddles without digging is the ticket. After a lot of research, I settled on a not so new tire that many guys dont see all that often. I know at least one person up here who has em and has good things to say about em (Perry...grin), So anyway here they are, the 27" Mud Machine Bi Claw/ Tri Claw combo on some ITP SS212 wheels.

One more from the front. Keep in mind that my sons 350 Bruin has the same size tires that my King Quad and most all other ATV's come with . 25-8x12/ 25-10x12

Thats a mean looking setup there! If I wasn't going to polaris 6X6 for my next ride that'd be my next machine. I like to tires, the paddles should do real well.

Someone's been visiting the Highlifter sight again. I remember when you raved about those Swamplites, guess they weren't the bee's knee's huh??

I still like my Mudlites, they have taken me a lot of places that stockers won't and getting stuck is a rare occurance. Hope those work for you this time Cub, buying new tires every year can put a damper on the ole wallet.

Those tires are SICK. My only complaint with the super mud/paddle tire is on real wet trails, they tend to scrape the layer off and make yah slide.

RIGHT ON!! I was wondering if you had gotten the Claws. I missed this thread. Ya, mine have taken me through LOTS of stuff over the past 6 years. Everything from water, mud, swamp to highcountry with tundra hill climbs, rocks, you name it. The tri's paddle and the bi's pull. Wait until you get them in the slop, you will be amazed. Gotta post a few pics of mine in action!

Did you buy those local or did you have to have them shipped up here. i have always wanted a set of the bi/tri claws, they are some mean looking tires and i have heard nothing but good things about them. i am running 26" outlaws on my quad now and i have been pleased with them.

SNYD/CUB... how are they on hard trails?

Vince-They are very trail friendly for a true big lug mud tire. A little bit of wobble/vibration up to about 5mph. After that it's smooth sailing. I don't like to go any faster than 30-40 on dirt roads and they are fine for that. I've been over 50 with them but they start to wander a little. Not a whole lot of rubber making contact with the big lugs. They are a 4 ply with a 6 ply rating. Mine are wearing like iron. Excellent rubber compound. They are also light for this type of tire and are a true 27 inches tall mounted.

Racnooc,-I ordered mine from East Kentucky Motorsports about 6 or 7 years ago. They are now 4ATVtires I think. They mailed them. Cost about a buck a pound. I know of no one in Fairbanks or Alaska for that matter who carries them. They are made by Sand Tires Unlimited though. I'm not sure where Cub ordered his from.
