Seems to me the crash started about 3 years ago, any guesses as to when we'll see increasing numbers? Any one know what the increase rate tends to be? Is the graph parabolic, exponential??? Thanks!

Well I went for a walk with the dog tonight, didn't side hide nor hair of a hare... See what I did there... Hair, hare... ha ha ha...

Seriously thought, didn't see any, didn't see any droppings and the trails the make through the moss look terribly un-used. I think we are in for another poor year of hare hunting.

I also didn't see any grouse or squirrels, the dog was definitely disappointed.

I've got two heirs of a hare cavorting in my driveway nearly every morning.

I have hunted (and trialed in the past) my beagles on rabbits and hares since age 14, which means 40 years off and on, mostly on. Over the past couple years though my schedule has not allowed me a lot of time to do so. Now that I am moving to Alaska I was hoping to get my beagles up there at some point and get back at it again. There used to be a fella on the beagle boards from the Peninsula. I hope to bump into other beaglers in the future when I move to Soldotna.

While I have seen hunter hunting hares here with dogs I haven't run into any using beagles.
But That isn'nt saying much as I am not out hunting them a lot. Just the occasional hunt here and there.
I hope we have reached the bottom of the cycle already and they are on the rise. A couple of years ago the hunting for them was pretty good.

A buddy of mine tried it with his beagle but it's small and after about 6 inches of snow she just can't keep up. Then she gets lost!
