A friend of mine said both the Buskin and Pasagshak have silver fishing. The buskin had a nice push through the weit two days ago. He had "trouble" weeding through fresh Reds at the Pasagshak-they are running late this year! He thought that the Buskin was better for silvers-although Pasagshak usually has silvers a little earlier.
ADF&G told me last week the count was beginning in the Buskin. Though he said it was still early, the count was the best in 10 years for that reported date.
I'm holding my breath and reservations. I leave in about 3 weeks to catch the flow when the streams and rivers open in entirety.
Yippe Yo Kai Yay!
Mining silver treasure on the Emerald Isle can be about the best it gets in Alaska when it all comes together...
The Buskin was left open this year, because they predicted a large run. The other road system streams are still closed upstream of the 1st bridge until Sept 15.
