No yanking at all. Talk with Luke in the parts department, tell him you have a SJX and would like the parts to make your stomp grate remote. He will hook you up. The hardest part might be telling him you have a SJX. You might need a longer cable I'll look at the length on mine when I get home. I can’t believe HG hasn't engineered one for his customers yet!! I'll have pics of OZ's set up somewhere I'll find them and pm them to you.

Bob, if you want a helm stomp grate give us a call. Phantom offers them as an option and we can get you one with no problem.

Fozzy2, FYI, Bob doesn't have an SJX, its a Phantom SJ. Big difference.

Yes, I am aware of what kind of boat he has. I met him at the spring gathering, very nice boat by the way. I was just trying to help him out by going through a real dealer so he could get the parts he needed in stock in Alaska.

DSCN1719.jpg Hi Bob, you'll enjoy working with Luke. He's a standup guy, and he doesn't care what kind of boat you have. You can drop my name if you wish, I bought a lot of parts from him when I was building my boat and continue to go there for my support. All the parts that fit my Phantom or yours for a remote stomp grate will also fit the SJX and vice versa. A good friend of mine did the original trial fits, good 'ol boy engineering and R&D to build the first remote setup when he worked for Compeaus. Don't let anyone tell you that all of the innovations on either the Phantom or the SJX came from the builders, that's just pure bull. The remote setup isn't rocket science and I feel it should be installed as a standard item, as it is on the SJX. It can be a safety item in some instances if you're grate is plugged, the confines of the river are tight and you need to clean out to help your power now. It takes less time by a bunch to pull that lever than it does to send someone back to the stomp, get it done, and have them back in a safer location in the boat before you put the hammer down on the throttle to get out of whatever tight spot a person tends to find themselves in after they've sucked up half the bottom of the river. Of course now if you want to quiet that squeeky stomp grate down and quit breaking springs, you'll have to get those plans from me. :proud: Fozzy had to engineer his basically from scratch to fit his Willy and did a great job.

The arguement about there being a big difference between the Phantom and the SJX can and has been been beaten to death so don't anyone go there. All I'll say is that if I had had a choice between the two when buying my boat and some of you now know me, my ride, and what I've done to it, hands down, without hesitation, I would have bought an SJX as a base boat to start with. I'm not dissatisfied with the Phantom either.

Fozzy ol' boy, you sure know how to get to the point on dealers buddy, touche'.

Picture of my sweet granddaughter with a prop thrown in for her use. She's got this riverboat thing figured out..."Let's go Grandpa" :)

Oz...thanx for the info..I know exactly what you mean about needing a quick cleanout. Was on the Matanuska river with MToudoorsman on Saturday, he stuckit twice...(sorry Zak) and when I was trying to find somewhere to put the boat on the bank, I sucked up something and lost power. Had the help run back, stompit and sit dow asap to prevent us from ending up in a wood pile. A very nervous moment there for a bit. I will inquire with them later...thanx again man..."fishon"
