I am in the process of planning a trip to Alaska, a trip that has been on my list of "things to do in this lifetime", in 2007. I am planning to make this trip on my own. I am finding that most of the lodges are set up for double occupancy and are a little hesitant to book for a single fisherman. Has anyone any ideas on lodges and/or charters in the South East area of Alaska. I would like to ocean fish for salmon and halibut.
Thanks.

I am pretty sure Alaska Premier Charters and Fishing Unlimited out of Sitka will book singles. There are a lot of very good people out of Sitka and the fishing just can't be beat.

How about $75 per night in a delux roadside lodge with plenty of fish and no crowds? Reach tremendous charter fishing grounds in a half hour, drive to limit catches of char in 20 minutes, and bust the Alaskan wilds with a guided all day ATV guided trip and limit out on sockeye?

You can do it all in mid-July in Kodiak. Search out Beaver Creek Lodge for your accomodations, Runnamuck Charters for your day in the big blue sea, and Kodiak ATV Adventures for your run to the reds.

Oh yeah, it's all ture...
