The peak is around July 20th. Of course, it can be a few days before or after that date depending on the year. By peak, I'm referring to the most fresh pinks available. There will be more fish after this date, but they will be well turned.
I have caught them in good numbers as early as 4 July. Sad my inlaws sold the cabin couple years ago, but it was just sucking a lot of time and becoming difficult for them to maintain. Great memories in Hope I have.
Traveler, I was just checking my fishing diary and in 2012 we did very well from 7/30- 8/4. Although, as mentioned they can show up in great numbers much sooner. I've fished this creek since the 80's and they always seem to be on there own schedule unlike most other runs of salmon around Southcentral, which tend to stick to a more predictable date such as second run Kenai reds. Either way, sometime between July 20th-August 1st they will be present in large numbers. Every year there is a thread on this forum tracking the status of this run and I assume this year will be no different.
