Need Some Help or Advise for Bear Hunting

good Afternoon everyone. I am fairly new to the area and trying to get this whole Alaska hunting stuff down. I went down south towards hope and was marking some spots on my GPS for possible baiting areas. Well when I came back and called fish and game the very small stream we were near aparently has a small salmon run. Looking at other areas there have been people parked on the roads, obviously setting up hunting areas. We passed those areas not wanting to crowd anyone. I have an RV, 4 Wheelers, and everything needed to hunt. If anyone needs another hunter or would like to give some advise please help me out. I am in the Army, but have a very flexable schedule. I just dont want to get too frusterated with striking out and just give up. Besides my family, hunting and fishing is my life. Anything will help at this point. Thanks!

This whole area is Chugach National Forest. Study there regulations (Especially ATV usage). It is even illegal to pull off the hwy. in a car or truck. There are FS LEO's patrolling the area, and AST LEO also. People who pull off onto Powerline access roads are doing so Illegally. Also know that they use "Game Cameras" on those roads and trails.......to "Get'ya". Also Mile 7 to mile 8.8 contains private property and homes, and many homes and cabins are way off the paved road, and some have NO driveway to indicate a residence.

FS LEO & AST.........Some Guy's use ATV to haul in their bear bait........and get a ticket. Those Chugach Electric Access Roads are "ONLY" for Chugach Electric Equipment, Not people's campers, ATV's, Trucks, etc. You can pull off only on the STATE of ALASKA HIGHWAY Pull-off area and/or the right of way which on the Hope Road is 100 feet from centerline, after that you are on National Forest Land.

Never heard of that, where did you find that information?

I was thinking in particular of parking along the shoulder of the highway, I see people do that all the time, seems that would be ok?
