Hey guys!

My name is Ryan Moeller. I am 36yrs old and live in Yuma, AZ. I am a Helicopter Mechanic for Customs. I am an avid hunter of Javelina, Coyote, Bobcat, Fox, Quail and Dove. I've been applying for Elk and Antelope tags for 3yrs with no luck yet. My dream is to go to Alaska to pursue Moose, Caribou and Brown Bear! I'd also like to do a lot of fishing up there too. If any of you guy's wouldn't mind taking a newbie under your wing and showing me around, that'd be awesome! My rifle of choice right now is a Browning X-Bolt Hell's Canyon Max Long Range in 30 Nosler. I also have a Big Horn Armory Model 89 in 500S&W that should be here this week or next. I hope to hear from you guy's soon!

Welcome to the forums. You might want to let folks know what area of the state, or what type of adventure you are hoping for (ex: rafting, float plane, etc), in order to get some guidance.

I'd love to do a float plane trip! Kodiak for Brown Bear or somewhere else that has some bigger bears. For moose, I primarily want meat but wouldn't be mad at taking a nice bull. I'd have to do research for good Caribou. Thanks for the welcome gents!

For brown bear, you have to hunt with a registered guide. As a non-resident you'd have an easier time getting a tag on Kodiak than us residents, but you have to hunt with a guide or a resident relative. Moose and caribou can be done unguided with a friend. Just an FYI as you work to turn your dreams into reality.

Welcome to the forum. I love shooting hogs! Calling coyotes was some of most thrilling work I’ve ever done.
