MY Wife is letting me go !!!

I just got permission to come up the last two weeks in August I would really like to catch some silvers I will have one week in Kodiak and one week on the peninsula Will this be a good time? mainly interested in stream fishing.
Any thoughts on where to go I will be by myself so I will be really flexible Could skip Kodiak if there is someplace better

Bear in mind that ADF&G does not open bridge upstream opportunities until September 15th. You can catch downstream from crossings until then, but it is definitely more limited in opportunity as compared to full stream fun in mid-September...

All peninsula streams and matsu streams will be in High gear for silvers. Very nice timing! Not sure about kodiak. Pick up a meduim action rod, with 20lb line, a few pixies, and your about ready to tie on a bunch of fun!!

I second the Matsu streams that time of August. Montana creek is a favorite. Take a water taxi out of Talkeetna up to Clear creek.

I think it would be pretty early for Silvers in Kodiak. Probably a few - but not red hot. The valley is a very good choice as it has clear water stream after clear water stream and most years, catchable numbers of fish. Not that the Kenai Pen. wouldn't be good (it would) there just would be as many choices.
