I'm trying to make a decision regarding how to have my moose mounted. Thought we all would enjoy seeing some of your moose mounts. If you want to mention who did your mount as well, that would be great. So get you camera's out and post some pics. Thanks.

I have all my moose mounted lifesize. The only REAL way to show respect for the animal!

You must be rich!!!!

I don't have a picture of mine but I have a shoulder mount with the head slightly turned to one side to show the better of the two antlers. I also have just the horns on a plaque (smaller rack).

just my thoughts

just my thoughts

I have had great success with Alaska Wilderness studio in anchorage, he is in the phone book and on the web, great guy, I believe that he charges $1100 for a shoulder mount, wish I could have done that with my moose, but am sure I wouldn't have room for him!!

depending on you ceiling height, you might want to consider a semi-sneak pose, rather than a straight shoulder mount.
my moose was done by my son (in PA) and it cost nearly as much to ship it as it would have cost to have the mount done locally.
bottom of the mount is about 5 1/2 feet above the floor.
one more thing - ask your taxidermist about having the antlers pinned to the head. if they're not removeable, your only option may be to hang it in the garage.
