I just purchased a new merc. motor for my skiff. I'd like to hook up a fishfinder to it, but don't see anything in the manual or online at the Merc site on how or where to tap in to power accessories.
It's a tiller handle, rope start, so no external power, but since it uses an alternator I think I should be able to use it to power accessories. Anyone Know?

That being the case there is no access to the high voltage the charg system has , which is strictly for the ignition system.
Get you self a small 12volt battery and a solar pannel.
If there was 12 volt productrion your motor manual would have shown you . Find a merc dealer and have the model number handy.
