I have a weldcraft with a marine power 901 pump, I want to order a SDR bucket. I am wondering if there are any local dealers I could buy from rather then spending $$ outside the state.

Cordova Outboard sold more Marine Power Engines in the last 5 years than anybody in America. They're in the book....You also might call Charley Reynolds at reynolds Marine in Anchorage, he installs about 12 or 15 a year

<edit> Tell the folks at Cordova Outboard you're in Ak but not in Cordova so you don't have to pay Cordova sales tax (sorry Cordova but its only right)

Why is Marine Power that much better?
I'm not sure its that much better, but Kodiaks seem to high pressure fuel pump issues. Also quality control, the casting on the kodiak aluminum manifolds and risers is shoddy at best. Kodiak is also hard to deal w/ and wont admit theres an issue. Right off the crate one of the risers on the exterior was extremely rough and thinner than the other ones (we ordered 4 496's) we called Kodiak and they wanted us to take pictures. 36k later we said uh, no you send us a new one and we'll just send you the bad one and you can see for yourself. It just wasn't the best customer service thats all.
Don't get me wrong I had one of the 1st kodiak 496's and got 4500hours on it and its still in service w/ the guy I sold the boat to. They changed the fuel system to the detriment IMO

The inboard motors have been great and its been rare to have a problem but they are man made. I have used both suppliers in the past and I prefer Kodiak for their customer service. Glen
