Hey everyone,
Looks like I'll be busy for awhile and would like to place our M14 into action. Can someone tell me the best and easiest to obtain scope mount and rings. Having a hard time getting them thru the army. Will probably mount my own Leupold VXII or and ACOG on it
Thanks

We went with the ARMS throw mounts on our M-21's. Excellent strong mount, and if your optics go Tango Uniform, off they come and the iron sights are not interfered with.

Check out: http://www.fulton-armory.com/ scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the left-hand link for M14/M1a parts etc.

These guys are one of the best resources for parts and work on M1 and M14 M1a rifles. ARMS 18 and Smith Enterprises STEEL mounts are highly regarded, also Brookfield. You might also get these from Brownells. If you have a business, you can get a discount at Brownells. Check there first. Might search on Ebay.

You will want to raise the comb on your stock unless you have some McMillan or other special stock with adjustable comb. Maybe a lace-on cheek pad will help?

Be sure to use STEEL Rings as well. The Burris Zee rings are well regarded and pretty inexpensive.

Best of luck to you.
