Lunar Eclipse?

Anyone planning on taking pics of the eclipse tonight? If I can stay awake long enough I want to try doing a time lapse with my video camera.

It's supposed to start in about a hlaf hour and be fully eclipsed by 10:15-ish. Should be neat.

We've got a Crystal Clear view down in Kodiak, nice for a change (no cloud cover I mean)

Pretty Darn cool to watch it all, wish I had a way to photograph it well

So, is it starting to look pretty red in the Full Eclipse mode, to those of you further north?

I tried taking some shots with my D90 and 300mm f/4, but with little success. Once it was fully eclipsed, there was very little light to work with, even with ISO cranked way up and lens wide open. Some of my pics looked ok until I looked at them more closely: unacceptable amounts of noise. I don't think they'd even make a decent 4X6. Oh well...good experience. I guess...
Anybody get any good shots?

Here's what I got from my backyard. Canon Rebel Xt with 70-200 f/4 L at 200. ISO 100-400. Aperture f/10. Shutter times from 1/160 sec. to 6 sec. 10:20-12-25, December 20-21.

Thanks, I took about 40 pictures over a two hour period. Made a 6000x4000 photoshop file with a black background, put all the crops of the moon on it. Then I picked the ones that showed the best intervals for what i thought would be good for the picture. Deleted the rest. Resized them all to make them big enough, and rotated them so the concave portion of the moon would be situated "correctly." Adjusted the brightness of some of the layers to make it a gradual change over the curve, and voila!
