Long Lake (Glenn Hwy)

The husband is hooked on this lake..... We headed out there this afternoon / evening. Tried a new spot i never see anyone fish. We ended up with 4 hookups in the 3 hours we were out there. Didn't land any but, karma i guess. I lost a nice laker right at the hole. All of the hook ups felt nice. Big. Most likely lakers or char but, we have had luck with burbot out there. Did anyone else have luck this weekend? We're heading back up there tomorrow to try and take some lakers. Wish us luck! roud:

haven't fished that lake in several years... When the boys were growing up we used to put out some sets for burbot, then hike up and over the hill and hunt hare... /John

Mile 86 Glenn Hwy. Lots of pressure in the winter. I honk as I go by.

That is a great lake to fish in the winter like NO pressure at all....That long lake behind keplar is great ice fishing...Maybe cause its CLOSED to ice fishing...But it would be a hoot to sneak in there and slayem... did I say that out loud?

long lake has decent to OK fishing BUT i dont like to go there that much anymore because that lake just gets pounded every weekend all winter. and another thing that tics me off i the fact the troopers on that lake. im almost convienced that long lake is second worse trooper wise only to big lake.

Told a buddy that once upon a time Long Lake and Weiner Lake were connected and was called Long Weiner Lake. Shoulda seen his face while he pondered that.

It's best to use it when driving by. My buddy was mulling over the different elevations wondering how they could be ever connected when I told him it was named by an old trapper when he peed in the lake. He still talks about how I had him hooked on the end of my line.

Great lake would be better if there was less pressure and more people out for the sport of catching and releasing. Let the natural lakers grow up to spawn.
